Mat Certification Levels I-III: 

Prerequisite:

Beginner/Intermediate Level in Mat

 

Requirements:
A total of 140 hours are required to complete this program in a five month period.
Breakdown of Program Hours:
  • 50     practice teaching
  • 40     observation
  • 18     workshop
  • 23     lessons (8 privates/ 15 mat classes)
  • 9    miscellaneous

Workshop Series:

We offer (3) six-hour workshops as part of your tuition
Workshop I  
      Sunday   March 9, 2008 - 9 am to 4 pm. (with an hour break). 
  • Overview of the Program
  • History and Philosophy of Joseph Pilates
  • The Principals and Fundamentals of Pilates
  • Exercise technique and modifications for all beginner mat exercise
Workshop II 
      Sunday   April 20, 2008 -
9 am to 4 pm.  (with an hour break). 
  • Review of Basic Anatomy as it relates to Pilates
  • How to teach a mat class
  • Analysis of different body types by muscular patterning and the link system
  • Exercise technique and modifications for all Beginner/Intermediate mat exercises

Workshop III
Sunday   May 18, 2008 -
9 am to 4 pm. (with an hour break). 

  • Transitioning clients between exercises for flow
  • Looking at common injuries, ailments, and pain issues
  • Summary of all teaching tools
  • Exercise techniques for all intermediate and mat exercises
Tests:
Two Written Tests
  • Beginner through Beg/Int. Mat
  • Intermediate Mat plus anatomy
Two Teaching Tests
  • Teach private client mat
  • Teach Intermediate Mat class

Performance Test

Intermediate Mat (Level III)
Tuition  $ 1,475.00 and Includes:
  • Three Workshops
  • 5 private sessions and 8 mat classes (add'l required lessons at a reduced studio rate)
  • The use of Body Precision studios for observation and practice teaching
  • 15% off all sessions
  • Advisor for support and apprenticeship supervision
